ENGINEERING | COMPUTER ENGINEERING

Computer Engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on the design, development, and maintenance of computer systems by combining the principles of electrical engineering and computer science. It involves working with both hardware and software, enabling engineers to build efficient computing devices and systems. Key areas include computer architecture, embedded systems, programming, networking, and cybersecurity. Computer engineers play a vital role in creating the technology behind smartphones, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT). With a strong foundation in mathematics, logic, and programming, computer engineers help solve complex technical problems and drive innovation across various industries.

The Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology is dedicated to providing high-quality education and research opportunities in the fields of computing, software development, and information systems. The department aims to equip students with a strong foundation in computer engineering principles, programming languages, data structures, algorithms, network security, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical training in well-equipped laboratories, students are prepared to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving technology industry. The department also emphasizes innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Graduates are well-positioned for careers in software development, IT services, systems engineering, and research, contributing to advancements in both industry and academia.

The Department of Computer and Information Technology Engineering was established at the inception of the institute in the year 2023 with an initial intake of 60 students for the diploma program in both computer and information technology. Building on this foundation, the undergraduate program was introduced in 2024 to expand academic offerings and cater to the growing demand for skilled professionals in the field. The Department of Computer and Information Technology Engineering is equipped with well-established laboratories dedicated to various domains of computer engineering. These labs are designed to provide students with practical exposure and hands-on experience in areas such as programming, data structures, database management systems, operating systems, computer networks, web technologies, and embedded systems. Each laboratory is furnished with up-to-date hardware and software tools to support both academic learning and research-based projects. By integrating theory with practical application, the department ensures that students develop the technical skills and problem-solving abilities necessary to meet industry standards and technological advancements.
